Canik TP9SFX Review

Canik TP9SFx pistols are affordable and have luxurious feel. It features a match grade barrel, a reversible and ambidextrous slide stopper, a decocker as well as a chamber indicator. The TP9SFx is extremely comfortable to hold. For the majority of shooters, the texture of the gun will be a great attribute. It’s not the most ideal solution, when compared to other pistols that operate in the same manner.

Yet it’s worth noting that the Canik has been reliable in my trials. It’s shot decent groups of 7,10 and 15 yards with 115-grain FMJ ammunition. Its single-action ergonomic trigger can be very fast to set.

Therefore, it’s an excellent choice for competition shooters or those seeking an effective range gun that can perform well and has lots of options.

The TP9SFx can be described as a superb pistol, there are things that could be improved. Its Cerakote finish isn’t great, and doesn’t last like other premium guns made by companies like Grey Ghost Precision. Also, it has sharp edges to the slide, which are easily visible from your holster. The other guns come with smoother finishes. The price is very low for this amazing gun, particularly at this price.

The Canik T9SFX optics-ready competitive pistol that’s out of the box straight shooting and is reliable. It comes with two 18-round magazines that have been fitted flush with a +2-inch extension. Canik’s pistols are made to compete right from the start. The Canik TP9SFx is a well-built pistol that shoots straight and includes optic mount plates. It’s also priced very reasonably at $550 MSRP.

This pistol comes with a number of features that you’d expect from an USPSA firearm of this class, such as magazine magazines that are adjustable, ambidextrous charging handle, and Warren Tactical sights. Additionally, it comes with an 5.2 match barrel and two magazines with 20 rounds. This is a great selection for competition shooting within the USPSA Carry Optics division, and could even be compared to similar models like The Glock 34 for the Open class, if you’re looking to shoot really large.

There are some things that I’d prefer the Canik’s TP9SFx was better at, but in general it is an excellent pistol. It’s got a superb trigger and it’s one of the best subcompact pistols with striker firing that are available. The grip is also good as are the ergonomics. But, it’s not as comfortable like a Glock. It’s due to it being heavier and has a longer slide as compared to the Glock.

The other thing I do not dislike is the publication. It’s too long and it has an odd form to it. If you’re using a gun holster that fits close to your body it can be difficult to reach the gun and remove the magazine. This is especially the case when it comes to left-handed models of the pistol.

Also, the stippling that is placed on the grips isn’t providing much traction. It could cause issues if your hands are sweaty or the grips become damp.

The Cerakote used in this pistol is at best average. It’s not able to stand up with respect to the top Cerakote that is found on firearms from brands such as Grey Ghost Precision. The color fades and it becomes worn-out prematurely. The finish does a decent job at repelling dirt and debris but it’s not quite as robust as I would like to have seen on a firearm which will be used in a rough environment.

Conclusions

Canik TP9SFX is a top-of-the-line competition pistol at a reasonable price. The gun comes with a range of color options along with numerous options of accessories for personalizing the shooting experience. The gun can be used in many different ways including firearm competitions and for home defense.

This pistol has an extended slide lock/release feature that helps shooters hold their firearm while they reload it. This feature is also extremely beneficial for shooters who have left handed. Attention to detail at Canik can be a signal that they care about their customers and want to get the most out of the firearm.

Another great feature of the Canik TP9SFX is its slide serrations. They help reduce the burden of the slide, and help you manipulate it better. There’s also an edging on the top of the barrel, which can accommodate guns that have lasers or lights mounted on them. It’s an excellent feature BuyCanik to those looking to illuminate their targets and be able see them when they fire from some distant distance.

Many of the TP9 models have an unassuming set of iron sights. However, some models come with a red and green fiber optic front sight for greater the visibility of firing from the distance. Additionally, the gun has a rear-facing sight that is removable for the mounting of various red dots, creating a diverse firearm for competitive shooting. Certain TP9 Elite Combat pistols come equipped with an Vortex Viper Red-Dot Sight from the factory.

The Canik T9SFX isn’t perfect in all areas. Cerakote is among the characteristics that wear faster than other high-end finishes. The gun is likely to create an Glock the knuckle with time.

The trigger is another problem. The trigger feels smooth but it isn’t crisp. This could be an issue for shooters who like to shoot large rounds or compete. This is a concern when shooting with hands that are smaller, who might find it difficult to reach on the trigger.
